Loss of our precious Great Dane Cassie

It's hard enough to lose a pet; but when they are your constant camping companion, I think it makes it even worse? As you've said, so much of our travels revolve around them; I'm sure I'm not the only one who bought an RV so the dogs could come along.

Cherish the memories, it helps. ((((HUG!)))

So sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Cassie. It is going to get better by degrees. Weeks will become months, months will become years, but the pain will subside; but always be there. It will get better, but you have a new normal to adjust to, and that takes time.

My Great Dane Rocky passed in May and then our St Benard Wojo passed in July. We love big dogs, but my heart can't take losing them. It gets easier, but you never forget.

So sorry to hear of your loss. She was one lucky dog to have been able to RV with you.

I had Great Danes for 35 years so I know how you feel. Hard to explain but just the lack of their magnificent presence is enough to just rip your heart apart.

You and Cassie will be in our prayers tonight. In time you will heal enough to move on and perhaps get another dog to enjoy your RV travels with.

So sorry for your loss. When we lost our sheltie Champ, we went camping the next day because we had a trip planned and were taking him and our new sheltie, Andy, to our favorite campground. I'm glad we did, because Andy would have been cheated out of being at a new place, meeting new people, smelling new smells and seeing the Mississippi River for the first time. He's also been to Lake Bemidji, Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod, Cheyenne WY and Scottsbluff NE, and western Michigan where he saw awesome Lake Michigan. Our other dog Champ travelled with us to Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc. Andy is seeing some things Champ didn't see, just as he has not seen all that Champ did with us. When you're ready, give another dog a chance to explore and see this beautiful country with you. May you be comforted by your memories of your times with Cassie, and may you, in time, have more memories with another faithful canine companion.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Cassie was beautiful and well-loved, and the pain is fresh. In time, I hope you'll be able to open your hearts to a new fur baby. The new dog won't replace Cassie, but will help you to make new memories.
