We have a leonberger (Google leonberger and Dogs 101). She's just now full grown at about 95 lbs. she also sheds like crazy. We brush her outside every day when camping and have to sweep and clean almost every day when we camp.
We don't full time, but we did take her camping since the first week we got her. She is an awesome camping dog. She takes up A LOT of room, just laying down. I often have to step over her while cooking, cleaning, walking from one end of the RV to the other. We'll, constantly.
I wouldn't have it any other way. Love that dog.
Potty training was easier when we were camping than when at the stick house since she was outside so much but I can't imagine a crate big enough to hold her that would also fit in any RV. That was a challenge and limited us because she couldn't be left alone ever.
We have three kids and they really helped out, but they are also older.
Having a large breed is different than just having a dog. I suggest you do work with a trainer (we had one come to the house weekly for a while starting the first week home) because every bad habit they pick up is magnified by their size.
Editing to add that we will get another leonberger when the two shin tzu go to the doggy bed in the sky because we love the temperament so much.
Not trying to discourage you. Just doing a reality check so you can decide whether you can take this on.
Safe travels!
