And what will you do when Hubby is working, it's raining, and the dog needs to be walked??? Or when one of thekids lets the dog out and he runs off. You can't be down the road with the dog and leave the kids behind....
I still think this is a mistake. Sorry. Young kids and large-breed puppy in a confined space is going to create frustration that isn't good for any of you. I'd get thepuppy, raise it well, then do the full-timing when the kids are able to learn from the amazing things they'll see and experience.
I disagre I have yet to have a single item damaged in my house or RV by my Collies and they are left alone up to 12 hours while I'm at work. They have a dog door at home and I take them out in the RV. Since my rescue dogs are adults puppies might be a different story. Kids and dogs are are great together.
