When Strider was on Cemo I gave him Sam-e and Milk Thisle per vet.

Milk Thistle is a plant, so that is what should be in Milk Thistle. Don't know about Sam E or how either of them help the liver.

S-Adenosyl methionine is sam-e. That's what it is and active ingredient.

Milk thistle is a plant native to Europe. It has a long history of use as a folk remedy for liver and gallbladder disorders. The active constituent of milk thistle is thought to be silymarin, a flavonoid found in the seeds.

If you have pain and/or any problems with depression/stress (I realize that Calvin's nighttime postings may be creating some anxiety....) sam-e is a good thing to try.

When IT comes to anything about Calvin, ... I'm always stressed. Maybe I should give it a try.

And someone said that having a dog around was really relaxing. Can't remember who it was, but if I find this person. We're going to have a serious sit down that's fur certain!

When our Pit, Stinky, had liver problems 3-4 years ago the Vet prescribed two 200mg SAM_E a day. After the problem cleared I kept giving him one a day. I checked this with his present Vet and he said to continue. His blood work has been good. I just ordered 300 pills today. They are Sam-e with glucosamine 525mg so I'm going to start giving them to the Rottie for her arthritis. The best place to get them that I found is Puritan Pride. They're on sale, five 60 ct. bottles for $81.00. with free shipping.. They're a pretty big pill so I wrap them in cheese or a piece of raw meat so they swallow them whole. They're a people pill so you can get them at most drug stores but they're too expensive. Good luck with your boy...
