No problem, the thought has crossed my mind a few times, too! He also doesn't cross bridges. Has always made me wonder what dreadful things happened in the year before we rescued him. As he ages, a lot of his bad habits are rearing their ugly heads again.
The easiest way is to shove it in their throat. Calvin takes pills without a problem. However, Harlee hated taking pills so I just opened her mouth and shoved it in her throat. No arguments, appeals, nothing, just shoved it in! ... :B
