Cat to me, you threw it, go fetch it yourself! - DashonthedashExplorerI just keep the toilet seat down and, so far, I haven't had a dog who would lift the seat. Does anyone here have a dog that lifts the toilet seat to drink the water?
- DutchmenSportExplorerI have noticed also that both dogs and cats will drink form the toilet. Maybe they are not so different after all!
We quit using those blue drop-in-the-tank pellets with bleach stuff years years ago when we realized the cat drank from the bowl. Ever since, we take extra precautions to keep all the toilets in the house (and camper) extra clean and if we use chemicals they are flushed right away. Both our current cats drink from the bowl. But our dachshund is just too short (well, when he's standing on all 4 legs he is) to reach it. But in the past, we've had taller dogs that used it as their main watering source! - Francesca_KnowlExplorer

But I did think maybe we could inject a little discussion about dog food vs. cat food?
OK, Just Kidding!!!!! :W
Ah, the things they eat...another difference between dogs and cats:
Cat: Do you actually expect me to eat this?
Dog: Do you actually expect me NOT to eat this?

Who started the thread besmirches an entire species? If you dish it out you need to be able to take it as well.
Um...I started the thread.
Didn't think those few opening lines were besmirchful of any species- well, perhaps excepting my own. ;)
I haven't said anything else; what did I miss?????
Go ahead- I can take it!

Oh Boy! A fight between dog people and cat people.
Hold on a minute....I need time to sell some tickets to this match.:):):)
I am not partial to either cats or dogs, we have both, and a parrot too (who is by far the smartest pet), it is just that I recognize that each species has unique qualities. As someone who loves animals, I am going to stand up for them when someone wrongly besmirches an entire species. - colliehaulerExplorer III

I was not pointing you out, no disrespect meant to you or to cats.
This thread is starting to sound like Chevy vs Ford. There is no "right" answer. Each person is allowed to have personal preferences.
I have had cats, birds, rabbits, dogs, and a raccoon once. Of all, I prefer dogs, for many reasons. That is just my personal preference.
To each his own.
