- WanderlostNomad IIDad brought home three of my uncle's lambs for us kids to raise and show via 4-H. It was very cold, so he put them in the back of the station wagon, laying in cardboard boxes, then picked us up from school. We were almost home, when something started snuffling my head. I jumped, the lamb jumped back, and a whole chorus of bleating started up. Kids laughing, lambs bleating - Dad turned up the radio.
Twas a very loud arrival at the sheep shed that day. - BCSnobExplorerWhen we were getting started in sheep we drove to IN and brought back 3 ewe lambs in dog crates in the back of our minivan. You should have seen the look on the face of another rest stop patron when they waked by the back of our van and one the lambs bleated.
Our herding mentor told us about transporting lambs in a small plane when she was first getting into sheep. - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer II

OK - you guys have made me giggle, but THIS made me burst out laughing!!! And reminds me of my son who brought home a calf in the back of his Expedition :-) - BCSnobExplorer
- downtheroadExplorerObvious that the guy doesn't care about the safety of his sheep. I would never carry my sheep in the bed of our truck....
They are part of the family. Our sheep ride up in the cab with us. - AZPopsExplorer

I'm typically up at 4am; not because of the farm but to avoid the worst of the traffic on my commute to work (job that pays the mortgage) towards DC. Our 35 acres cannot produce enough lambs to pay the mortgage, property taxes, and insurance to allow me to retire to sheep farming.
Geez, Mark. I was just kidding around. ... LOL
