We would bypass the park also, thinking it was not pet friendly. Maybe they should impose a "fine" if you do break the rules. They could give you a choice of paying the fine or leaving. The pet owners who follow the rules then wouldn't have to pay the charge.

I think the Idea of the deposit is to keep the pet owners minding their pets like when you rent a house. You keep the dog on a leash and pick up his poo you get your money back you get caught with a deuce and dash or no leash it just cost you 25 big ones. If they only would do kid deposits.

It's quite easy--Leave a voice activated recorder running, or use Bark Sentry. Or use the old-fashioned, low tech method of regularly asking the neighbors.

You're assuming I did or said nothing. The point of the original post was not how I responded but why they were so willing to risk their deposits when the rules were so clearly explained to them, as evidenced by their signatures on an extra form.

The dog's owners do no think! I have seen rv resorts with the sign "No Pets Allowed" posted. If the inconsiderate ones continue, you will see more of these signs.

I am not a dog owner but have no problem with most who do have pets. I do understand a CG's need for a "pet deposit". There are just too many pet owners who think the rules apply only to others' animals. "My dog doesn't need to be on a leash - he always stays right by my side". "I ALWAYS pick up after my dog - that mess isn't his (while watching the dog 'do his duty' right in the same spot)". "My dog isn't a barker - he's fine inside the RV while I'm away". Sorry to say, how do you know that your pet, in a strange place with people running around outside your RV, isn't barking when you're not there??? My favorite while I was working in a CG several summers ago: "My dog has never ever bitten anyone. He must have been provoked" - while he was wandering around the CG off his leash!!!

It's sad when pet owners cause so many problems for other owners. THOSE are the people that CAUSE that sort of policy to be put into practice.
