Yummy ...

Dr Gander gave the wees some cookies for Halloween along with the recipe...they liked them so I baked a batch tonight....looks like they still like them...they smell yummy....

  • I don't think there would be any problem with substituting pumpkin...maybe add a dash of cinnamon...sounds good !

PS: thanks ...I think the wees are pretty special ( as any momma would LOL )
  • The Wees are so sweet! Thanks for sharing that recipe. I guess you could substitute pureed pumpkin for the applesauce?
  • Thanks for sharing the recipe, I love baking the home made treats for the kids since it has become, at times very dangerous for our dogs to buy them.
I think my two will love these.
    Thanks again!

  • 1/2 cups water, 1/4 cup veg oil, 1/4 cups applesauce, 2 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla, 1/3 cup crunchy peanut butter.....mix together

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 3/4 cups regular flour, 1 cup cornmeal, 3/4 cups oatmeal....mix.....add the wet ingredients...roll into a ball and place on a floured surface..roll out dough until its 1/2 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes..place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 20 minutes in a 400 F oven. Turn oven off and leave cookies in the oven for 1 hour to harden.

I made them about 2 " in diameter and then break one in half for the wees to share....but I have given quite a few cookies away to clients and those dogs are all bigger and almost swallow them whole..so you will have to adjust the baking size to suit your doggie..

    enjoy !
  • How about sharing the recipe? I would love to give my girl a homemade treat.
  • Izzy's just daring someone to try and take her's away from her!:B

    Did you try one?

No but I could....except for no sugar they are the same as any peanut butter cookie Well except they are baked to a harder consistency !
