Altitude App

I have a Samsung Galaxy 7” tablet android and I am looking for an altitude app that doesn’t need cell or WiFi to be used , one that works off satellite, my tablet has GPS on it. It could have other things with it, do you have a favorite one ? free is nice but I will pay for a good one. Thanks advance, Jay

    sch911,
I have a GPS ( Nav Free ) but I was wanting a altitude readout as another tool. I think I will look at Co pilot and Sygic . thanks

That's why I suggested you download the App "GPS Test" as it has an Altitude readout and much more, better yet it's free.

Install the App "GPS Test" from the app store it'll give you what you want.

Common misconception: Smart Phone GPS require cell service or WiFi to operate. Not true the GPS chip works all the time on or off the network. It's just that when your off the network your device can't download the map data. For these times it's best to use an offline GPS app like: CoPilot or Sygic. These install all the map data to the device so they work all the time.

Not sure about Samsung, but most tablets and phones require cell service or WiFi.
I am not sure of any that work with satellite.
I have GPS on my phone also but it needs cell or WiFi

I have Nav Free on my tablet it's a GPS and it works without cell or WiFi ,some of the members here on the RVnet told me about it and so far it's been good on the test around my area. I was wanting a altitude gauge to have more fun toys.
