Wa8xym.. I should have also noted that to use the AM21 you must connect a OTA antenna to it..
As far as I know OTA broadcasts are STILL "open", unencrypted, FREE TO ALL, no payments, no descramblers needed, no jail time, no fines..
I use OTA ALL the time and I am not worried one bit of going to jail :B
Anyone considering using a AM21 while camping you do need to be aware that you may or may not get ALL OTA channels due to signal strength and quality of the signal.. Height, size, quality of antenna, direction and any obstructions like buildings, hills trees can result in no OTA channels, a few OTA channels or all the channels in your area.
Depending on where all the broadcasters are it may require rotating your OTA antenna a lot if switching channels.
