Your statement is a bit confusing. To clarify, the arrow part is the back side of the antenna.
So the front is the back as it is installed like this. With the arrow part facing forward
The front is the open end of the "V". - Tom_M1Explorer

For those folks that have installed a Jack antenna on the Winegard mount, the arrow will point in the direction that the Jack is pointing. Keep in mind that the flat part of the Jack is the front and should be installed so that the front lines up with the arrow.

- Dutch_12078Explorer IIAs usual, Jeff is quite right. I added an arrow to my ceiling dial with a Sharpie to remind me which way the Wingman is pointing.
- SCVJeffExplorerThe pointer is not showing the direction of the antenna, it's lining up the mast stow position. The antenna is pointing 90 degrees counterclockwise to the pointer.. Check it out.
- 1775ExplorerInside on the ceiling of my RV, my Wingard has an arrow pointer on the circle that turns the direction of the antenna. Either get a compass or use a compass app first and determine north in relation to where the arrow on that ring is pointing. Next look at your antenna pointer app with GPS enabled on your smartphone or tablet and set it to map output. It will then show a map with arrows going out in different directions to local channels. Turn your antenna "arrow" pointer in the direction of the most channels. Or skip the app and get yourself a signal finder for about $40. Connect that to your antenna lead, turn it on, and turn the antenna until the most LEDs light. Put the antenna lead back on the TV (I use an A/B switch to keep it connected to both.) Then turn on your TV, scan for channels, open a beer and sit back, watch and enjoy. Simpler and no more turn, scan, turn again, and again and again.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIThe 'Front' of antenna is opposite the back where it attaches to support arms.
Point the 'front' towards the TV Transponders
