Best Buy Offer - camperforlifeExplorerIn store only. I saw it in a banner ad on best buy online. I will be at their doors at 10am & will report back.
- FlatBrokeExplorer IITwo year contract stops me. The reason I still have a flip phone so I can jump ship with no penaltys. About to head to Walmart for no contract and buy your minutes when you need them. Tracfones are working down here better in AZ where we stay for the winter than our Verizon's.
- HappytravelerExplorerThat's a great deal if your contract is up. I have to wait till September. I heard the new iPhone 6 is coming out in September with the bigger screen.
- Big_KatunaExplorer IIDoesn't seem like a good deal to me. My 4S is worth over $200 on Ebay.
I'll wait for the 6. - camperforlifeExplorerI looked on eBay last night and didn't see any with the same memory as mine go for more than $180. I just walked out the door of BBuy and only paid sales tax.
- jcpainterExplorerWe took advantage of this sale today and upgraded our 4S to a 5S. Here's what we found: The $1 offer is for the 16 GB phone and your trade-in must have no scratches, dings, etc.
We were allowed to trade-in our 16GB 4S phone for a 32GB 5S phone and pay $99 difference. We could have gotten the 16 GB for $1.00 but chose to upgrade to the 32GB version.
It was not a steal, but we felt a good value. We were told that Verizon would charge us a $35 activation fee on our next bill . . . which did not make us happy, but it is what it is. The 5S supports 4G LTE (the 4S was only 3G) and we often use the phone for a hotspot when traveling. This made the decision an easy one.
Thanks to the OP for sharing this. - camperforlifeExplorerThe whole time I sat there while the sales guy was doing the paper work I kept wondering when he was going to tell me that Verizon charges the $30 activation fee. He never said a word about it. I left thinking in the back of my head that the fee would be there but wondering if Best Buy had a way of waiving it as a promo. When I got home I signed in to my online Verizon account to make sure the kid didn't screw up my plan and sure enough, there was the Verizon $30 activation fee.
I don't have a problem with the fee I expected it, but shame on Best Buy for not having full disclosure at least at my location. - SRTExplorerToo bad I upgraded to the 16GB 5S last month.
