Blank Screen LaptopUPDATE!!!!

Toshiba blank screen - what a surprise! No, not really. This happened to us with a Toshiba laptop. It seems on our Toshiba that there was a known issue with the monitor screen when used by Toshiba on the laptop and after a year or so, the monitor would blank out. Of course - after the warranty had ended. Toshiba admitted to knowing about this from the beginning and refused to fix it after warranty without charging almost what the laptop cost. One suggestion that we found from other Toshiba owners with this problem was that there is a florescent tube at the bottom of the monitor panel that burnt out so the laptop was working but the screen could not light. This tube can be replaced but is costly at a repair center - and is tricky to DIY. Other than attaching the laptop to a desktop monitor, it is now just a paperweight. I would never buy another Toshiba. Knowing about a problem at the time of manufacturer means you fix the problem whenever it arises or don't sell that unit as it is.
