Camping World Merchandise Certificate

A little frustrated that I went to spend my $10 Thank You merchandise certificate and they tell me that I already spend it! Tried calling the 800 number and have been on hold for 40 minutes. As an added bonus I wasn't able to get one of the nice bags they were giving out to new and renewing members because I am a lifetime member. No problem I was going to use my coupon for a buy one get one table cloth....oops, none of those in stock. So today, my lifetime membership had 0 benefit. I'm usually pretty understanding, but three strikes and your out.

    I was not trying to "double dip". I know a couple of the managers there and shop at that store very often, so I would never take advantage. At one point I was told that I spent the certificate in April, pretty interesting since the email with the certificate was sent to me in May! I got through to the certificate help desk and they couldn't tell me anything about the original certificate so they re-issued me a new one. From what I have heard there has been a huge computer upgrade and all the systems at CW and GS have been having trouble.

    Well, did you or did you not use the cert. at Syracuse Camping World store on April 13, 2015? You were not trying to "double dip" were you?

    We plan on camping for a long time and use the Good Sam card a lot, so we will come out ahead. We got a really good deal on the life membership at the Rally. There are some lifetime member perks, but nothing out of this world. We live close to a Camping World so its convenient to shop at and get the camper worked on, but every once and a while they do some things that just don't make sense. we bought our camper from the "local place" Really bad service. Its just hit or miss when doing anything RV related I guess.

    It really has to do with customer service. I would think a lifetime member should get some additional consideration. He should have at least offered to split the difference and give you 5 off.

    I recently went to the CW in Island Lake and I had the same issue and I know I didn't use it. He did not even bat an eye and overrode it. He was not the cashier as she did not know how to do something and he came up and handled it extremely pleasantly and even apologized for taking too long, it wasn't.

    And that is the trouble with a life time membership to anything...they got your money and you can't vote with your feet.
