Can't Get Local Channels on Dish RV

We had All American Direct for years and really liked it, then they quit offering that DNS service. So we go on vacation and I call Dish with our location and ask for the local channels. We get all of our nornal sat channels but not the locals from the area we are in. We moved again today and same thing can't get the local channels from the city we are in. I have talked to about 8 different reps and run check switch too many times to remember. I even had to buy a new 211 because they said the old one wouldn't work.

What am I missing??

  • Have never had a problem. A call to Dish, tell them I am in the RV, ask them to change my service address (not the billing address) to the address of the RV park (or at least a nearby address if I do not know that address), and in a few minutes I get the local network channels of the nearest large city.
Only once did I have to call twice. Turned out the first person had correctly changed the address but failed to activate if.
  • I only get one sat at a time and have always used 119 and it worked fine with All American Direct
  • Did you have them CHANGE YOUR SERVICE ADDRESS? Try using Dish chat on-line and tell them you have moved to "1234 Jimmie Ave, this town, tx 11234" and you need to have the local channels activated. I will make the bold leap to assume you have an antenna capable of receiving all 3 of the Dish satellites but since we don't know where you are located, that antenna might have to be able to receive 110, 119 and 129 or 61.5, 72.7 and 77.
Give us a few more details about your location and setup and someone will likely be able to provide some additional guidance.
  • Ask DISH to change your Service Address to your current campground address.
