- RamCougarExplorerGreat info ktmrfs! Thank you!
- ktmrfsExplorer IIit depends somewhat on the antenna designs. An omni directional external antenna has a 360 degree radiation pattern while a Yagi is very directional. If the yagi is directed away from the inside, it can be quite close, if over the trailer may need more seperation than an omni.
the higher the external antenna the closer horizontally they can be.
Now my experience with the weboost. If the phone is in a cradle antenna even 2 ft horizontal and 6 feet vertical is plenty. with the ceiling mounted inside antenna 8 ft horizontal and 6 ft vertical has been enough.
Now a metal roof will also decrease the distance needed.
a wood/rubber roof will not provide much attenuation (isolation), at least at 3g/4g frequencies. - RamCougarExplorerMy new and untested Ebay special states 30' with at least 1 wall between. I am close on the distance but wonder about a rubber roof and a few plywood partition walls between? Time will tell!
- Big_KatunaExplorer III just installed a Weboost RV booster.
My instructions didn’t mention a distance BUT they said to try it in a trial setup before drilling holes.
They also had comments in the FAQ section on troubleshooting that said if you get oscillations or blinking red green led to move them farther apart.
Mine ended up less than 8’ apart and it works ok so far. - 2oldmanExplorer IIYour manual doesn't say?
