Cell Phone Screen Protector?

you did remove the OEM protection film, first .. right
add-on's to look good if placed ontop of the OEM film

i will leave the OEM film on for a while after i start using a new phone

the "wear" if any, on the OEM film helps me decide whether or not, i need to replace it or just remove it and forget it

When my wife and I got our new phones we went to a shopping mall that had a Ghost Armour kiosk. They installed the screen protector on the phone for free. Mine has been on for three years - not a scratch,it is clear, has a good feel, has not interfered at all with phone function, and has not lifted off. While I would not try to duplicate their sales video by running a power drill across the screen, it has held up very well.

Not all phones have the Corning Gorilla glass screens. If this is what the screen is made of then no screen protector is needed. If it is not made of GG then I recommend Zagg Invisible Shield protectors installed by a competent installer at Best Buy or similar. Best protection is a good case and think before putting the phone in a pocket etc. since the risk of damage to the phone goes up significantly and no screen protector is going to save it. Phones get thinner all the time and pants pockets put bending moments on the phone. Screens are not flexible.

My iPhone, the screen protector is irrelevant, as first thing I do is get an Otterbox Defender case, which has one built in. I thought about going with InvisiShield or Ghost Armor, but I like the protection against drops, especially when I'm at a renaissance faire during rehearsals, and there is a chance the phone might drop onto rocky ground when taking pictures.

My Android phones, I get a decent case, but usually a screen protector comes secondary, especially because Gorilla Glass 2 or 3 does its job quite well. No cracks, deep gouges or visible scratches, although I'm sure if I look at it in the right light, maybe some faint scratches might show up... but I tend to be fairly careful with my devices.

I have had my Droid for 3-4 years,I carry it in my pocket along with keys,change
and other "stuff".The screen still looks like new (when I clean it).It seems like screen protectors are a solution to a non-problem.

My HTC One is about a year old and has never had a screen protector. It still looks brand new. I try to keep it in a different pocket from loose change, nothing more.

At the mall I had Ghost Armor install a screen protector for my iPhone. They took off the Otterbox screen protecter and replaced it with theirs. So far I'm happy with it because my phone is in constant contact with my keys.

Turn the shower on until the mirror steams up. Then install screen protector.

I've kept my iPod in my jeans pocket for years now. The gorilla glass is not scratched from constant contact with keys or coins. The metel back is a mess but the class is still clear and bright.
