We don't answer the calls we don't recognize, but I get tired of the darned thing ringing all the time. And each time I have to get up and look at it to see if it should be answered. Just want some peace and quiet. Seems to me the phone should be for my convenience, not everyone elses'.
see if this would work for you. - AllegroDNomadOn my Samsung Note 3 you can press and hold on the number (Recent calls) to get a pop up menu. "Add to reject list" is a choice.
- guidryExplorerI don't answer numbers I don't recognize and call back any potential clients calling if the leave a message. Any spam calls I can do the same as Hawkeyes with my Samsung Galaxy S5. I just add the number to a blocked caller list and I've seen several spammed calls be automatically not answered, no ring or nothing! Love it.
- RoyBExplorer IIWe don't even have the ringer hooked up on the house phone... I never know I get a call unless the answer machine kicks in...
Now I am starting to see some spam sales calls on the cell phone...

Looks like it. That's what I get for believing '60 minutes'.
You now must register your cell phones for the do not call.
Regardless, I doubt it's going to help much. After all, it's a government program. - You now must register your cell phones for the do not call. Once this is done you can file complaints after the 30 days.
Do Not Call complaints - blangenExplorerIf I'm not mistaken, don't all android phones have a "reject" list? When you receive a call (whether you answer or not), it gets logged. Open the log, click on the number to make it active in the screen, tap the menu button on the phone and one of the menu choices will be "add to reject list". You will never receive another call from that number.

Jees.. it's illegal to spam a cell phone. Have you reported this? - and I don't mean the DNCL.
Is there a problem just looking at who's calling and not answering? That should discourage junk calls over time.
yes it is, and nothing is stopping it. Yes the FTC has gone after a few firms, but only a handful
As people switch their "use" phones to cell, they enter them as phone numbers with various companies they do business with, that then sell these lists to marketers, that then sell them to anyone.
Government's attempted control of SPAM phone, junk mail and e-mail is pretty much a waste of taxpayer dollars. For one, they carve out a whole bunch of exceptions to the rules that many SPAMers can legally use. And second, but most important, is US laws don't apply to calls, mail and e-mail coming from outside their legal jurisdiction. - bob_nestorExplorer III

Is there such a thing as a cell phone that can block unlimited cell numbers, and area codes? My current flip phone can only block about 30 numbers, which is becoming inadequate with the growing spam calls.
I use an app called Call Control. It's available for Android, iPhone and Blackberry.

The DNCL is only for land lines. Cell numbers are already 'illegal'.
Have you submitted your cell number to the "do not call" list?
