Thanks for the "believe it or not" option since a SWM LNB will not work without the PI installed. No splitter required, but the PI is required. There are also non-SWM LNB's (they look almost exactly alike) but a SWM LNB cannot work without a PI.
Hate to be argumentative, but please don't dispute this unless you have actually tried it. I know the difference between a SWM horn and a legacy horn. I did this while troubleshooting a 785 (can't communicate with dish) error. Finally found out that I had a bad circuit through the PI. Replaced the PI and am using the same SWM horn normally, feeding my 2 DVR's in my fiver.
After you've tried it, we'll talk.
