DirecTv at home with Dish network in the MH?

Yes, with Dish you can get E and W. Some DirecTV customers have reported getting E and W if they asked for it. I have E and W with DTV now as I have been grandfathered into the old plan.

This is exactly what my wife and I have done--we have Directv at home with Dish network in our Class C. I am happy with Directv at home, but wanted an portable automatic satellite (with HD) in the motorhome. I purchased a bundle of a 211z receiver with a Winegard Pathway X2 and am very pleased with the setup. When I had it setup in the Class C, the tech even fixed it so I can watch satellite (in SD only) in the bedroom. Whatever is on the receiver in the main room is what you will see in the bedroom. I can change channels in the bedroom with the dish remote. I can turn on and turn off the service as needed. I am very pleased with the setup.

Yes, but DISH East & West coast distant networks are in SD, not HD, and must be purchased through www.mydistantnetworks.com.

However, what many DISH users do is just call DISH and change their Service Address to their current campground. Then you get the local TV stations in HD.

Certainly not a problem as long as you're willing to have both subscriptions active. I have both services (on two different houses) but use only Direct in the RV but that doesn't change the fact that I need both subscriptions.

What is the cost per month for "Pay as you go"?

We have had directv in the house for years and moved the box to the TT to many times so we got dish pay as you go about a year ago. It took longer to get the box out of the cabinet and into the TT then it was worth. Now we just move the stuff in the fridge to the TT pack our clothes and go.

You do need to purchase the receiver (211K or 211Z recommended, so say required) and then sign up for a minimum of 30 days. If you do nothing the service will simply end after 30 days and you can sign up for 30 days the next time you would like to use it. I don't know if you would have much luck turning it on and off 3-4 times a month but if you don't use a full 30 day period you can call Dish and have them disconnect the service. They will hold a credit balance for you next trip (but no refunds).
