- Gonzo42ExplorerI never run that any more. I don't see any benefit, and it takes time.
- the_bear_IIExplorerCheck switch will determine the type of switch ypur setup is using and configure the Dish box so it can see the satellites. At home I have one type of switch and in the RV there is a different type of switch. When I move the receiver from home to RV or back to home check switch is sometimes needed.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIRecheck your dish settings and aiming, and if any changes are made, rerun the check switch to pick up the missing bird. Normally, the only time I run a check switch is when I switch LNBF's and settings from one arc to the other.
- wingsfan20Explorer129 is low in the sky to right of 119. Some times hard to pick up. Try satellite AR app for smart phone to see where it is in sky.
- gasguzlerExplorerI am even more confused by these answers
- Kenc_ALExplorerIf you last successfully used this receiver with the same dish, then the answer is no.
You normally only run Check Switch when you are changing the receiver to another dish. As I understand it, the reason to run check switch is so the receiver can ascertain what dish hardware it is attached to and then I assume it self installs the correct software to use for that dish.
So for example if you changing from a Dishpro (twin LNB) to a 1000.2 (3 LNB) dish, or a 1000.2 (3 LNB Western sats) to a 1000.4 (3 LNB Eastern sats) then yes, run check switch and then save the new config.
Now if your traveler is not seeing the 129 sat, then tune to the 119 sat and then look a little lower and to the right of the 119 and see if you do not have an obstruction. If so, then move to a new location where you have a clear view and it should find the 129. The 129 sat is a few degrees to the right (west) and somewhat lower in the sky than the 119.
I have a pathway and even though I take the receiver out of the stick house which uses a 1000.2 dish, I do not have to run check switch – confused – I am also on that one! - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIGasguzler, Kenc_Al just gave you the correct information to address your post.
If you still have questions please let us know.
If you are connected to a Trav'ler and you go into the receiver setup menu (Menu, 6, 1, 1) and click on the Check Switch button, the switch should be listed as DPP 1000.2. Assuming that's what you see, exit out of that screen and you are good to go. - gasguzlerExplorerOk guys, thanks! That is the info i was looking for!
