Dish receiver problem

We have a winegard roadtrip t4 dome satellite dish with two satellite feeds and use two Wally receivers. This is our first trip with two wallys. I know that both receivers must watch channels on the same satellite and this is usually no problem. The main receiver in the living area controls what satellite is watched. Here is my problem. When the main receiver changes channel to a new satellite, the secondary receiver loses reception and does not let me change channels to the new satellite. The only way I have found to get the secondary receiver on the new satellite is to run a new check switch test on it.

Is this normal when using two receivers with a dome satellite? I thought when the main receiver changed to a new satellite, the secondary receiver would change also automatically. Is there something wrong with my dome or receiver? Thanks for any info.

    Bill,

My fault. I rechecked connection and satellite input was not connected. All works fine now. Thanks again for your input.

    :) :B
  • T4. Works great in motion. We have used it in motion for four trips and have had no problems.

  • Have you used the T4 as an in-motion satellite dish? Does it work well? I am thinking about buying one. Thanks.
  • Bill,

Thanks for the info. However, I switched receivers and when I put the one with sw64 on it in the secondary receiver location, nothing would come on. It was stuck in the acquiring signal status. I checked the status and it showed sw64 with green on all satellites. The one receiver I put in the primary position switched over to sw64 and works fine. I am stumped. Did I do something wrong.
  • You should only have to do a check switch once, but that check switch must be done on the coax connection where the main receiver is located. That means you have to do the check switch on the main receiver and then remove that receiver and connect the 2nd receiver in that location and start the check switch procedure over again. This will give you the correct SW64 switch on both receivers. Once you have done that then you should be able to fix the problem with the 2nd receiver by simply changing to a channel on the new satellite.
  • That is how my system works as well. It lasted all of one outing before I purchased another dish for the bedroom TV. Chino
  • Every satellite doesn't have every channel and you are only looking at one satellite.
