Email contacts GONE

Microsoft is having problems with Outlook contact lists. I finally found verification of this on one of their websites dated today. I guess I'll just wait until they fix it.....

Could have also been a glitch with Javascript as Outlook.com relies heavily on scripting to function.

Well I don't know what happened but I just went back to "Outlook" clicked on the people window and low and behold everything was there. Now what's that about??? Well we'll see how long it all lasts. Thanks everyone for your help and putting up with someone not to savvy with this stuff.

Some added information on the new Outlook Mail accounts.

When you sign in to Outlook, your account name and picture or icon should show up on the Blue bar to right of the "gear" (tool bar) icon. Click on it to get to your profile information. Check the information for correctness. If you changed either the name or password to be different than the old Hotmail account the link cannot be made to your old contact list.

You may need to change back to password last used on Hotmail.

When you have the "RED" bar on the PEOPLE menu (contact list), and you have no contacts in the list, you need to look to the right side of the bar (not shown in examples). There is a white gear symbol. Click on it for tool bar options. Click on "Help" There will be instructions for how the recover the missing contact lists for different computer systems.

I have an Asus i7 computer with Windows7 Home Premium, and IE10. Program works okay. You should have at least IE9 installed for the new Outlook. Many claim less problems with IE9, but I am happy with IE10. I learned how to work around the one bug I found (not all picture folders show when looking for attachments).

The new Outlook mail starts with no people showing up in the list when "NEW" mail button is pushed. If you have a contact list, entering the first letter of a name will show contacts under that letter. Contacts are added to what is now a "favorites" list each time a new e-mail is sent.

Clicking the blue "To" on new mail will show your current contacts list. If nothing shows your contact list has not been in-ported from the old Hotmail account yet.

I'm computer illiterate and don't really understand what your asking but I have an ASUS laptop with Windows 7 using Internet Explorer and msn is my home page. I never had any problems with my email until this "Outlook" took over. Hope any of this might answer your question.

Today I wanted to forward some emails and I can't find my contact list anywhere. Before today I could just hit the "NEW" key to start an email and there they were. Just click on the ones I wanted to send too and be done. Now nothing and the instructions that I have been looking at are NO help at all. The page and click on links they describe don't even exist on my page. HELP!!!

I can click "People" but when that window comes up I have NO icons that show to manage anything. To the right of my "People" screen I have something that looks like a house and next to it a wheel, which I had assumed to be tools for Outlook but not so. ???? I cleared everything out and rebooted but still nothing. This is frustrating!
