External Antenna for iphone

I want to use my iphone 7 for a hot spot to get internet video content while traveling in my RV. I tried it and it works with my fire stick but it seems to require a good strong cell phone signal. I thought an external antenna might help, maybe something that clamps on to the outside ladder. I find a bewildering array of choices online and a lot of technobabble which makes it look like all products do not work with all cell phones. What do I need? Any advice will be appreciated.
  • Wilson weboost. They have a model that works with a single phone, or one that works multiple phones.

When I first got my OFF-ROAD Popup Trailer I installed one of these WILSON Cradles up high behind my wrap around valance curtains in my POPUP. I have a spot that has 120VAC and 12VDC connection and all is hidden by the Valance Curtains...

This has an external antenna and gets out pretty good.

I was using one of these one of these VERIZON JETPACks back then that allowed me to use as a hotspot and gave me a good couple hundred of feet walk around area of my parked off-road POPUP trailer...

If I wanted to go on short hikes around the camping spot I would also put the Verizon JETPACK in my pocket and it would allow our carry along devices to continue to work with the social media...

I recently have upgraded my Verizon JETPACK to a MIFI6620L model...

We have found that VERIZON NETWORK is about the best CELL PHONE Service to use when off grid...

Of course things continue to change but in the early 2008 time frame this was what worked best for us being off-grid with our various devices we had with us back then... It seems that todays cell phones become great HOTSPOT items... My Gibbs Flip Phone back then just wouldn't do that haha...

  • I use a Weboost RV the one with the ext pole with antenna and a internal antenna that covers most of the RV for multiple devices.

It works great. Many times I have had zero to 1 bars, data speed test showed .5-1 mbs
before booking up the antenna. After the Webost is up I see 5-10’MBS.

    Worth every nom penny.
  • Years ago I had a Wilson magnetic antenna we would just sit on the dash of the MH and did well from Georgia to western SD (until we hit remote areas in the Black Hills. Now I have an iphone and the antenna does not work with it - plug in does not fit. Like the reception with the antenna.
