I would check Adobe's Flash site to confirm if you are running an updated version? It's a browser security issue, as Flash has become a favorite hacker access tool exploiting player vulnerabilities. As a result, Firefox blocks outdated Flash versions, requiring you manually enable it, taking the risk associated with doing so. Chrome auto updates Flash as part of their browser updates.

I had no issues running CNBC videos in Firefox with both Adobe DRM plugin enabled or even disabled, so not sure what issue you are having? It doesn't appear they are using DRM?

Some possibilities include corrupt Firefox code base, or some type of browser malware?

It is not malware. I am running FF41 and Win10 unfortunately.

I'm having the same problem of flash vs firefox issue.

Here to tell you 'all' the videos posted on facebook and 'many' news websites will NOT allow me to view them unless I update flash, firefox won't let me update flash, and on and on and on.:R

I agree with magicbus: there must be something on your computer, or its settings, that are causing issues.

I'm running FF 45.0.0 and Windows 8.1 and have no problems with CNBC or any other videos.

Almost sounds like you are infected with malware or some sort of browser hijack. My recommendation would be to disconnect from the internet (wireless as well), reboot into safe mode, run system scans with ALL of your protection software to clean infections, and maybe even perform a system restore back to a point where you are confident that everything worked as it should.

The part of your warning that specifies DRM software is required sounds like a phish to get you to click a link or something else that would install more malware -- BE CAUTIOUS!!

Contact the content provider and tell them you're not going to pay unless they modernize their website. Nobody should be using flash to play videos anymore, this isn't the 1990s :(
