FM transmitter

Hi again. I recently got a satellite set up for my trailer and want to be able to listen to the Galaxy music stations on a little Sony book shelf stereo, no audio in jacks for hard connection, no Bluetooth, just FM. I think I have heard of FM transmitters for this purpose but all I can see now are Bluetooth units and they all seem to be made for specific audio sources and geared for playing on car stereos. If anyone has any suggestions, preferably proven ones, they would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Best Buy and Radio Shack carry "Stereo FM Transmitters" that plug into the headphone jack on your satellite receiver and transmit to any FM receiver within about 100 feet.

    The best FM TRANSMITTER I have run across is this one from C CRANE.. It has the best input matching of all the ones I have seen at the big stores. Has a pretty large coverage area with its pull up antenna.



    I use mine sending my computer setup audio out over the FM BAND so I can hear several Internet Radio SCANNER links all at the same time sitting outside in my easy chair. Sort of like a FM SCANNER radio doing this..

    RoyB.... do these transmitters work when plugged into headphone jacks? I have no line out on my sat receiver or television, only a headphone jack on the tv itself.

    The SAT receiver should have audio output ports in the form of RCA jacks (red and white). This can be adapted with a Y cable to a headphone jack to go into the FM Modulator.

    Also Ramsey Electronics, I use mine all the time to receive music from my satellite receiver in the house in my work shop outside. :)

    Best Buy, Radio Shack and many other places.. I have one I think I got at an auto parts store.. They work well, epically if you are in a scarce market, Not so well in Detroit, or Los Angles or NYC but Well, I'm in none of the above (Depends on how well the dial is saturated).

    You can also get FM-Wireless speakers and even Blue Tooth setups but I really do not like those for your install.. (I do plan on a BT transmitter some day).

    Thanks everyone, I think I've got the info I need. Sch911, I do have the red/white/yellow outputs on the sat receiver but I'm using the HDMI port to connect the TV and I'm not sure I can then plug into the red/white for audio out as well. I'll use the headphone jack on the TV since that apparently will work OK.

    If the red/white/yellow jacks are output from the sat receiver then you can hook just the red/white to access the audio unless you have something oddball. All the outputs (HDMI,RCA, component, etc) on most equipment work simultaneously.

    Yes you can all of those ports work.
