From my experience with two Garmin units, Google Maps is far superior. Google does not require you to pay for updated maps, and offers very accurate, free, live traffic, plus it's free. It's amazing how traffic jams, and slow downs show up on the map. I always pre-check the route and also the alternate routes it offers before traveling. I use the street view feature to check out the local area on perspective RV parks...very handy feature. I mount my smartphone to the windshield with a suction cup holder and connect the charging cable to the 12V plug. I don't see how you could go wrong with Google Maps.
