How do you secure your Dish Tailgater

We have a heavy duty cable that was purchased to lock up our motorcycle (got it at the Harley dealer's, I believe). The lock is heavy duty, too. It's threaded thru the handle.......If you don't have the handle, I have no idea how you'd lock it.

I run a u shaped padlock through the holes and then connect a chain to the padlock. Don't run chain through the hole.

I bought a plastic coated dog tie out cable from Home Depot. Use a small padlock through the hole at the Tailgater and the other end of the cable to a leg of the trailer or tree.

I bought three colors of super-flat camo spray paint and went at the lil Tailgater. With a hundred feet of coax I can spend hours looking for it. Perfect for boondocking but no help in a CG.

My "plan" for CG use is to build a bracket on my roof, away from the solar, and bolt mating brackets on the Tailgater, where that small ridge runs around the base. Then I will thumbscrew it into place on the roof rack, no longer stealthy but darn tough to get at.

I do the exactly the same. It can be defeated; anything can. It stops the casual thief, which is probably 99% of them.

Chain mine also but it's just to keep the honest people honest. Would take anyone about a minute to steal.

So far have not needed to secure it. The couple of time I have needed to use it due to the antenna mounted on the coach being blocked I was able to set the Tailgater on the back roof of the coach and get a signal.

I use no method of securing ours. If it gives you peace of mind, put a chain or something on it, but if they want it they will take it.

Heavy duty locks and Very heavy duty cable (dog ties, like).
