How to connect to wireless printer

I'd guess that printer isn't capable of joining to separate wireless networks at the same time. AT&T and Verizon will be different SSID's and I bet printer can't support two simultaneous WIFI connections.

So long as you're sure you've entered the correct passcode into your HP printer, I also think the likely culprit is an incompatible encryption protocol on the printer end. Are you using WPA or WPA2 TKIP or AES? Not all hardware supports AES router(MiFi) encryption and this can cause it not to connect. My guess is that the Verizon MiFi could be using AES? Try setting it to use only TKIP, and see if it connects?

You may also want to set the MiFi encryption to a less secure settings as a test. Either WPA or WEP to see if the printer now connects? However, I would restore the security settings to the highest most usable level, but not compromise the whole WiFi network for a printer.

Another option is to check if your HP Printer has updated "firmware" available, not just drivers, and see if that corrects the issue.

In the above USB connection, the desktop also has to be turned on to receive an email, so there is no difference. Just saves a couple of steps in emailing.

This option is available whether the printer is hardwired to the desktop or wireless. The drawback is that the desktop has to be turned on in order to print from the laptop.

Well, I just said screw it and hooked it up with a USB cable and all is OK. We use the desktop for 98% of our stuff and if I need to print something from the laptop I'll just email to myself and print it from the desktop.

I solved all of my connections issues with my DELL M90 high end work station laptop by using the DELL DOCKING STATION approach. I have my trailer setup the same as my house with dual screens, printer, sound, keyboard and mouse... Never open the lid up on the laptop...

It sure is neat to just grab the DELL M90 laptop from the house and plop it into the docking station in the trailer and all jumps to life.

The other things I carry with me are several different USB hard drives for the various hobby things we do on trips with photos and my radio operations etc...

I also use the Verizon MIFI for internet connections for the M90 LAPTOP which works great all over the Eastern half of the USA.

About the only difference we see doing it this way is the Internet speed is faster at home... I also have to log into different things to send emails when away from the house but for the most part it isn't much different whether it is at the house or in the trailer.

We have been connecting two laptops and a printer with Verizon MIFI for 2-3 years with no problems.

I have a HP wireless printer , when I want to print (from anywhere)I set up an email address for it.. I just hit forward and select that...

We have 2 laptops, Lexmark printer and Verizon MiFi all connected with WiFi. No issues.
