Internet Explorer won't open

A couple of days ago our desktop did a couple of updates and the next day when we started it up it won't open IE. We are using a Verizon Jet-pack for internet service and the computer says it is connected to the mifi but when you try to open IE it says it is not connected to a network. It is working fine on my laptop in the same room. Any ideas?

    I would call that a stroke of luck. Just use the laptop to download a copy of Firefox or Chrome and never look back.
