What's the least expensive way to have movies while boondocking with out signal or wifi? Thinking tablet with downloaded movies. How much can you put on a tablet and with what size chip? Is there a better way for a non tec person.

If you have satellite tv (doesn't sound like it) that's another relatively cheap way. I know nothing about downloads as to whether they're copy protected.

WD TV Live On eBay for less then $100.00 plus WD Passport on eBay for less than $50.00 and can store almost 100 movies.

If you already have Netflix, then you can download movies and it's free.

It's just that the movie(s) will be unable to run if it becomes delisted at Netflix (like it has an expiry).

Will hold dozens of movies, amazon, Netflix or whatever, can watch on the 10" screen or has a hdmi output allowing you to simply plug it into a tv with a hdmi to hdmi mini cable or with the wifi you can use a chromecast to view on your tv.
Works with most any service.

You don't have to pack them around. Get rid of the ones you don't want or don't watch any more. Lots of places will give you money for them.

yeah but drop to the good setting and its less than 1/4 of that.

Amazon Fire with added 32 GB micro SDHC card. Total cost about $50, bought as a Daily Deal a couple of years ago. Before leaving on a trip, I download movies and TV episodes free from Amazon Prime. Yes, I know I pay for the Prime membership, but it has other benefits and the Fire also has other uses.

Inexpensive tablet from HelMart like the RCA 10" about $75 with 32 gig of onboard storage, then use Amazon prime to download series and movies, or Netflix or other service.
We load the tablet while having lunch or dinner at a restaurant on their wifi or an occasional stop at a library. In "good" setting the video quality is 480 p or so and the quality matches pretty well against dvd's.
