Here's a spot beam coverage for parts of N CA. Reception starts to get marginal at the third ring but depending upon your antenna, weather, day/night etc you may get reception further away.
Once you no longer get the spot beam locals (basically channels 2-99) you need to change the service address.
DNS channels are not spot beamed and only the national channels are available (NBC, ABC, etc).
