I do not have a DTV RV account. I have a single DVR receiver that is moved from home to the RV. When I leave the home spot beam I have the service address (and NOT the billing address) changed to the new area. Hopefully the OPs posted second hand information from another forum is incorrect. All of my recorded shows remain in the DVR when moved.
I'm aware of 2 groups that commonly change there service address. RVers and snowbirds. I suspect they are a smaller percent of the total customer base.
From my DTV experience customer service folks are not always well versed or trained to correctly change a service address.
From posted comments Dish has a good reputation but we haven't changed for 2 reasons. We're comfortable with DTV and we would need to convert the RV RF Mogul antenna to Dish for about $300 for the parts. Additionally we're considering buying a DTV portable dish for those areas where trees are a problem and we're there longer than a overnight.
