After going back and reading the original post again I kind of understand the problem. Your home local networks may not be available as far as local news & weather but I would think they would let you subscribe to the east & west coast network feeds. You can get the same programs as at home just at different times. Look at it this way. If you miss it on the east coast feed wait 2 hrs and watch it on the west coast feed. During nfl football season I love it. Most of the time the east & west coast feeds carry different games. You do have to subscribe. The cost is minimal. At home the only tv I can get is from a satellite and with no local feed available.
We prefer the local news, however. DNS only has the national programs and there are many other local channels (1-99) that are available.
