I'm totally happy with SPOT.
It cannot follow the exact route, as it only sends a message every 5 minutes.
But that's ok. If you look back at your trip, you get the information you need. I never wanted to know every single turn.
And when it comes to geocoding of photos, every place where we stropped the RV and got out to take photos, we have a very precise locations (as long as the stop was 5 minutes or longer).
So if you take a closer look at Joliet, you can see the exact parking lot that we used to take the photo of the Blues Brothers (2:38 in http://youtu.be/0jvqQ5Eteek )
