- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIOld Islander,
Thanks for reminding us to check for public access for where every we post data. I've seen this before where you think the data/pictures etc are private and they are not or perhaps trival to access as you pointed out. I will also be cancelling my PB account. - Old_IslanderExplorerI'm kinda sorry I brought this up. I've cancelled my Photobucket account now, but I had family pics in mine that I would not have wanted accessible to the world. Grandkids and so forth...
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIFWIW why would you have a PB account and pictures on there if you didn't want people to see them? What's the point?
If you didn't want them public, you'd keep them as private. If they're public then why wouldn't you expect strangers to see them? - Old_IslanderExplorerWell, if you don't mind strangers accessing your PhotoBucket account without your password or permission, and looking at all your pics, then I guess nothing.
- fj12ryderExplorer III^^^^And this is bad because...
- Old_IslanderExplorerI just made up the name Joe Blow in the green part -- turns out there is an account by that name. But he apparently applied privacy passwords to all his albums, so they can't be seen. The person who's URL I copied further back in this thread -- I was taken right to his account and could see all his pics. He doesn't have his set up in password protected albums.
- BarneySExplorer III^ Yep - me too.
Barney - MrWizardModeratorthe green part got me to "joe blows photobucket is Private"
using the whole url
got me to page that never finished loading
the swirling wait circle in the middle of the page just kept going
no image - Old_IslanderExplorerI notice that some folks can still post pics from PhotoBucket. If you right-click on those pics, and click "view image info", you'll see a URL that is essentially their account address with the pic name at the end. It's quite simple to take this URL, erase the pic name, and use it to get right into that person's account without the password. If you use Photobucket's linking routine, then the pic is assigned a coded URL, preventing anyone from back-hacking into your account.
For example, I just right-clicked a pic in this thread, clicked 'view image into', and copied the URL, which looks like this (except I've changed the person's name and pic name):
http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x358/JoeBlow/pic-of-some-dang-thing.jpg
The green portion will take you right to Joe Blow's account without the password. So you many not want to do it that way.... - mike-sExplorer

Are you taking bets on how long that will last? Too many eggs in one basket.
The photos are stored on his Imgur account.
Either a forum hosts pictures themselves, or the users do. Relying on third parties is a recipe for disaster.
