Places like COSTCO, Walgreens, Walmart Staples and others do send them to a third party business.

Do a search on YELP to find a local business that does Photo to digital conversions. Hopefully there will be some current yelp reviews to guide you to a good one.

I did mine while watching TV over the course of a couple of weeks.
