In general, I'd be cautious if electing to take advantage of mobile data deals posted by members. I've had issues with multiple suppliers.
EXAMPLES - THE BAD:
- KARMA - Signed up based on a forum recommendation for unlimited Sprint 4G LTE. KARMA changed the terms of their service 3 times. First, throttling maximum unlimited 4G speeds soon after I signed up. Then dropping unlimited 4G to set monthly allowance for the same price. All in a month. It took me 6 months to get a refund of KARMA 4G hotspot I never actually activated.
- UNNAMED MOBILE - Signed up for unlimited T-Mobile 4G LTE service from another forum recommendation. The result, I never received the $200.+ 4G Modem/Router. The supplier even issued a false shipping tracking label, and mislead repeatedly by phone/text messages about shipping the modem. Eventually, had to get PayPal to intervene, who could not get the supplier's bank to honor the refund. So PayPal had to refund the purchase themselves.
EXAMPLES - THE GOOD:- 4G ANTENNA SHOP - The best 4G mobile customer service I've dealt with so far! Originally, purchased Huawei 4G LTE Modem/Router. Had multiple issues with the Cricket 4G (AT&T) SIM card not seating correctly. Also, 4G speeds were only fair at 2-4Mbps down/up. Eventually, Cricket stopped working completely after 2 months. 4G Antenna Shop shipped me two new replacement 4G LTE Modem/Routers from a different manufacture free of charge. I ended up shipping one back on a post paid label. They also upgraded me to T-Mobile 4G LTE unmetered service and credited 1-month free service. Example speed:
- EBAY - Verizon 4G/3G MiFi hotspot for $5. unlimited 3G service. Refill cards can be purchased from multiple Ebay suppliers, which auto refill with supplied hotspot phone number in one day. Works flawlessly. Speed from DC National Mall average 2.5Mbps down/600Kbps up.
