- GordonThreeExplorerTaking the "free" upgrade renews your contract for another 2 years. If that's something you're OK with, then go for it. The little jetpack is easier to strap into a Wilson booster cradle if you're out in the bush and have a weak cell signal.
- slborbaExplorerHave you considered the Verizon 4G Jetpack through Mellenicom? 20Gb for 8
$89.00/month. Uses Verizon data plan but do not pay the Verizon cost.
I use it and love it. I keep 4Gb on my shared data plan with my wife for use on our phones. Works well for us as fulltimers.
Steve - Garry_GayleExplorerI just locked in for 2 more years with Verizon when we upgraded the phones, the MIFI was working great at the time but now it keeps losing signal/shutting down so switching to Millencom is not an option, the only option is upgrade or remove it from the plan which I was told I could do and save the $10 line access fee each month; all our devices are on a shared data plan.
- pigman1ExplorerIf you decide to go with the Elipsis, just be aware that it is only 4G, and will not hook to 3G in any outlying areas. The MIFI 5510 is still available (4G, 3G, 1X). They'll tell you it isn't but they can get it if you push them, as some commercial clients still need it for it's added security options that the Elipsis doesn't have. It's $50 with a $50 rebate.
- Garry_GayleExplorerThat's good info because I have been told my Ellipsis tablet is the same way that it will not connect to 3g.
- TwomedExplorerIf you have Samsung phones just use the hotspot and save the $10.
