- xyzHollyxyzExplorerI just tried it a few minutes ago to see exactly what I do while camping to watch my Playlist (sadly, my HR21 receiver is in the house for the winter).
I plugged DVR in to power and connected to a television - didn't screw in any satellite cables. After a while, while the receiver was going through its setup, and you get the signal loss error message, I just pushed the MENU button and this pops up - your PLAYLIST...
Receiver Model HR21. - full_moseyExplorerI have a 211k and this works for me.
Plug in for a cold start,
wait for Acquiring Signal screen,
press Menu then 9 then 1, where 9 is MY DVR and 1 is My Recordings.

John - lbrjetExplorerDo not connect the input coax cable and after powering on press the DVR button.
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIIf you keep power to the receiver now that you can access the DVR you should not have a problem in the future even if you lose signal. You need an inverter to maintain power but in most cases, as long as it does not lose power you should have access, even driving down the road.
- jeffoExplorerMy power button really does not seem to do anything. The only way I can turn off the receiver is to kill the power to it. I was able to move my tailgater and got one sat locked on an now I can atleast watch DVR shows.
- jmckelvyExplorerTry pushing the DVR button immediately after pushing the Power button. I think I got it to work doing that. Never did get it to the recorded programs after the searching screen came up.
- PopsieExplorerIIRC, you can press the red button, then go to the list of recordings after it restarts - but it's been a while since I had that problem.
