I also have an iPad. Even though they're bullet proof it helps to shut them down completely once in a while, once a month is good.
Here's how to do it...
You're correct, Fizz. I got into the habit of turning my iPad off by just momentarily pushing the power button. After having problems with my Safari browser locking up, I've been turning it completely off using the power slider on the screen. Everything's OK now. - Dutch_12078Explorer II

Well, I decided to try a different tester, which I now like better. It's www.speedtest.net.
If you prefer a Flash free version, try Ookla's beta site at: beta.speedtest.net - FizzExplorerMr Ed

And what does finding out your 'speed' do ??
It is what it is.
I often play videos on youtube on my iPad. If I notice excessive buffering or other indications of a signal strength problem I like to know what the cause is? I then contact my Internet provider and we get the problem resolved, using the website I mentioned to get some visual indication of improvement. - Dutch_12078Explorer II

I've found that rebooting our hotspot will often get a better connection/speed when I notice a slowdown. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAnd what does finding out your 'speed' do ??

Using the supplied test link, my T-Mobile 4G LTE speed comes in at a whopping 51 Mbps? :h
I would take this result with a grain of salt. May be fine for Netflix streaming, but not necessarily applicable to any other Net activities?
First, the test appears to be too short to accurately gauge overall transfer speeds? It's not uncommon that an initial reading will give burst result, then gradually drop to some sustained level. Plus, I have no idea what file size transfer is being tested? Many use an unrealistically small size which can also result in an artificially high speed?
I would consider this more realistic indication of my transfer speed at the time of testing. It uses different file sizes, which can be adjusted by the user. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIIf you really want to know what your download/upload speed actually is, download something like Networx. That will give you actual speed at your computer.
