With a small TV you may be able to find one that uses an external power adapter that provides 12 volts to run the TV. This is really handy if you have no power hookup as many state parks do. Throw away the adapter and connect the TV directly to the 12v power. Just make sure the power output of the adapter is 12vdc, it is usually marked on it.
Many of the small TVs have poor sound too. My 22" TV had really poor sound. I happened to have a pair of 12 volt computer speakers and they greatly improve the sound.
