Your confusion may come from the fact that your RV may be wired for: antenna, cable, and satellite (prewired).
Make sure you are only connecting to Antenna and Cable coaxial cables. I have noted that campgrounds use different type of cable systems. Also; some brands of television sets work differently on cable.
My newest set (2013) needs to be connected directly to the outside cable box. It does not work going through the outside connection on RV (going through walls and switch-box to TV). The older HD TV (2007) worked that way.
