In Florida State parks anyone can rent an ADA compliant site. The sites are altered to meet regulations and the information is provided for the convenience of campers who might need one. There is no "handicap/disability" requirement to rent and use it.
This is correct.
This is incorrect!

I believe that you must have a handicapped placard or license plate to reserve a handicapped site in Florida state parks.
I just returned from Fred Gannon/Rocky Bayou state park which is near Destin. ALL of the ADA sites were occupied by able bodied people - the one next to me as well. If you had to be disabled to use one, Reserve America would ask if you were disabled. This is akin to ADA stalls in bathrooms - there for disabled persons but not specifically reserved for them. Parking spaces are a different story. Feel free to call the park - Fla State Park rangers are a friendly bunch.
