- CougarnewbieExplorerMy friend's father used to take him to L. A.. so he could taste the air.
- For almost 20 years ALL RV APU makers have installed California Emission carbs as the APU makers did NOT want to have to build only for California. THAT California rule is why Onan carbs cannot be rebuilt and Onan does not sell rebuild kits. You can rebuild as long as you do not destroy any of the carb gaskets and seals. Doug

- HiTechExplorerSome modern vehicles put out cleaner tailpipe emissions than the air they take in when driving in high smog areas like LA. Including vehicles not legal for California sales due to CARB.
CARB rejected a proposal for putting catalyst coatings on radiators that would have offset tailpipe emissions and net cleaned the air many years ago.
CARB is clueless.

Your generator will be legal. Like was mentioned only SALES of intelligent items are banned. CARB insists chemical laced gasoline that reduces mileage 10% is good for the environment so it becomes expensive state law. Buy your gasoline outside California.
I take it you do not think a 5,000 cow herd (per dairy) has any effect on air quality. In 2011, there were approx 1.8 million head of cattle in CA. That lead to a "LOT" of outgassing.
Come take a look and "try" to see the Sierra Mountains on an average day. Occasionally, we can see them. Air has improved somewhat because of EPA/CARB, Is that because the 1.8 million cattle are now equipped with catalytic converters??:B but heavy truck traffic and still to many old cars are making it difficult.
No, but that's not a bad idea. When I lived on a dairy, I always thought the aid looked a little "green". Maybe they can get DEF from them at the same time. - HuntindogExplorer

Hang onto your head if you go south of the border however..........
