That's a pretty low tow rating for anything other than the smallest of pop up trailers which is not ideal for full timing in. You may want to consider upgrading your tow vehicle first.
Or keep your vehicle and tow it behind a Class A/C.
Your camping choices will be limited because of your dog. Many places (because of insurance regulations) will not allow pit bulls or large breeds in general. Be honest when checking in or calling for reservations. I've seen folks asked to hitch up and leave immediately when they were found walking a banned breed.
