The great battery debate never gets old.
You will get what you pay for. Batterys sit in the dark & are often forgotten. Do the research. There are reasons boaters & aviation use the types of batterys that they do. Battery failure at 30,000' or miles offshore is never good. Nobody is getting out & walking for help. Nobody is going to jumpstart you.
There is much to be said for the AGM, inspite of its price. The service life is much longer than a wet cell. The maintenance, besides an annual terminal check is zero. It can be discharged to a lower level & recover time after time. During long periods of storage it does not need any maintenance because of loss of charge during that period.
I have a 4D Lifeline AGM. It is 5 years old. It has been sitting, disconnected & untouched, since early last November. Next week it will get its first attention since then & I expect it to be fully recharged in less than 1/2 hour from reconnection ready for another 150 night plus season.
With wet cells I would be on my second, most likely about ready for third set by now.
