Camper Bedding

Hey Yall

We have a 30ft travel trailer with queen bed as well as bunks. My question is do you completely strip the beds when you store it between trips? Our old trailer had the fold up sides so we had to take the beds apart between, but I am wondering if we can leave the beds made while it is in storage a few weeks between trips? I plan to completely strip everything when we pit it away for winter.

Thank you!!!

I guess the bigger question was after washing can I make the beds again and then store it with the beds made. In our fold out I would vacuum seal all the bedding each time we put it away and that made it a chore every time we pulled it out.

I washed the bedding, then remade the bed. That way there was one less chore as we were getting ready to go out again. Unless you are in a VERY dusty or humid environment, I'm not sure why you would vacuum-seal the bedding? Seems like unnecessary extra work and camping should be all about keeping it simple :-)

  • Why would you not wash the bedding after a trip? When you get home wash ash you
ready with fresh sheets for the next trip.

Before we started full timing at retirement, exactly what we would do. Come home strip bed wash and remake the bed so ready to go for next trip.We also refilled propane.
We also kept the closets stocked with clothes, so spur of the moment trips didn't take any time to prep.

This is exactly what we do, as we are still working.
We live in a forest, so in case of a fire, we can leave on very short notice and still live a normal life.
  • Depends on length of trip and our activities...last trip was a short weekend with no campfire and nothing terribly active besides a short hike. We left the sheets on the bed. Longer trips or if it seems “dirtier” like campfire or if I’m on a hunting trip with a lot of hiking and activity we strip the sheets. We have a bin that we keep the trailer towels and linens ready to got back in the trailer for the next trip.
