Camping for Minors

While living in Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast, my son and visiting friend decided to camp in a state park not too many blocks from home. They went down to set up camp with tent, etc. I went to check on them shortly after. Ranger and I visited. Normally they don't allow underage campers on their own. He looked them over. Gave him my home phone number. He was OK and they had a great time cooking over the fire.

Rules are rules, but if you are there for the right reasons and conduct yourself appropriately - a little leeway may be granted.
